Marie Weber, founder and owner of North Forty Textiles, created her business in late 2011 to fill what she saw as a gap in the local Cape Cod market: locally manufactured, eco- friendly goods for a sustainable lifestyle. Drawing inspiration from her job as a farmer, Marie knew from the start that her textile products would have to be as eco-friendly as possible.

Using only 100% linen and 100% organic cotton yardage is the foundation for every design Marie personally comes up with. Starting each item from scratch in her outer cape studio, Marie cuts, sews, tags, and photographs each and every product, from its raw fabric stage to final collection. Having the flexibility of small batch production allows for a constant flux of ideas to transition quickly into new products.

With a background in organic farming practices, Marie knew that conventionally grown cotton uses about 25% of the world’s chemical pesticides, destroying water ways and communities across the globe. Sourcing eco-friendly materials was of utmost importance from the very beginning for North Forty Textiles. Combined with conventionally grown linen, which requires little to no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or insecticides, Marie has created an eco-friendly textile business by design. Marie firmly believes that outfitting your home with eco-friendly products can make a huge difference in the sustainability of our agriculture and eco-systems around the world.

2015 brings a new Spring/Summer line to North Forty Textiles. Featuring the brand new Seaside Collection, this new series pulls a color palette from Marie’s native Cape Cod landscape. Soft blues, rustic oranges, pale yellows, and a unique rainbow of colors in between are the cornerstones of this collection. The organic cotton products and 100% linen items are artistically designed to fit into any home or lifestyle.  The natural beauty of both fabrics are always the focal point of all Marie’s handmade items, allowing the unique weaves and textures to dictate the final designs.

You can find North Forty Textiles’ handmade linen towels, organic cotton scarves, linen clutches, and the rest of the collection at Prices range from $10 to $120.
